Fruit Picking for Everyone!
Young and old alike are welcome to help pick fruit straight off the tree to help feed the less fortunate in Israel.
The Israeli organization, Table To Table, has taken a unique approach to obtaining food to help feed the needy. Table To Table has contacted many farmers throughout the country and has received permission to go into fields to gather fruits and vegetables that were not collected at the end of the season's harvest.
Though there are still hundreds of baskets of food left behind after a farmer has harvested the crop, it is not economical to make another harvest. Instead of the food going to waste, volunteers pick the food which is then distributed to those who need it .
So if you are thinking about visiting Israel, you can help with the fruit picking and do a good deed at the same time!
