We Can Tell if You're Lying..
-Well, at least in the airport.
Israel recently unveiled a new airport security lie detector (polygraph) that can detect a lie by analyzing only a person's voice-no physical contact is needed.
The Israeli company Nemesysco developed the technology for military and insurance claim uses and it is currently being tested at a Moscow airport. The unit uses a signal-processing engine that analyzes incoming voice waveforms; it detects levels of emotional states according to the pitch and speed of voices.
Each unit will cost between $10,000 and $30,000 and will be able to detect whether a traveler needs further questioning after a brief 30-75 second conversation.
In test studies, an American firm used the system and successfully caught the one person out of 500 who was planning an illegal act.
