Robots to the Rescue!
Israeli robots, actually.
At the International Fire Fighting Robot Contest, (last year hosted by Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut) high school teams from all over the world compete to determine whose robots are the most intelligent and efficient fire fighters. Participating robots, built by students, have to navigate through a typical room while trying to locate and then extinguish a candle in the shortest time possible.
Last year, of the 45 participating teams from seven different countries, Israel showed its technical and mechanical aptitude by taking home first, second and third prizes with the winning robots: "FF-01=FE", "Robo-Gyg" and "Citizen Tito" . Kol Hakavod!
