Scan My Hand
Like something you might read about in a science fiction book, many people are having their hands scanned as they arrive in Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The process is simple and begins with an initial "hand scan" to add an individual to the growing database of people. After being added to the database, individuals leaving and arriving in Israel no longer need to show their passports. A hand scan in one of the RSI HandReader kiosks is all that is needed.
This new, high-tech process of identifying people has reduced the people traffic time at Ben Gurion from one hour to 20 minutes. Israel reads between 50,000-70,000 hands per month.
F.Y.I. The Hebrew word for "hand" is "yad" |
